Tonight’s auroras seen from north of Chicago. I want to say I can now check off that bucket list item, but I feel like I’m only partway there. What I could see with the naked eye was just super faint hints of pink and green in the night sky. My iPhone 15 Pro Max saw so much more - despite the light pollution that we could not escape. The only editing I did was to reduce the brightness to compensate for the 3 second overexposure that the phone wouldn’t let me change before shooting. And of course, align the image in the square crop (to eliminate distracting roadways and such).

Second time I’ve made challah. This time, it’s round braided (thanks to YT tutorials). Though, I had a false start when I forgot to halve some of the I gradients (because my recipe makes 4 loaves and I only want 2. Oh, and forgot until halfway through the baking to do the egg wash. But it seems to have worked out just fine.
